A Place and All Its Creatures was inspired by many things. One of them, the words of Wendall Berry who said, “I believe that the community – in the fullest sense: a place and all its creatures – is the smallest unit of health and that to speak of the health of an isolated individual is a contradiction in terms.”.
This 9-month personal project took Donnie Rex and I 19,661 miles around the United States in an attempt to better understand human ecology (the relationship between how people shape and are shaped by their environments).
